Here's a fun online creative path for those out there in the SLO-805 who may be doing recordings, CD's, radio-spots, radio news or other audio-functions and projects. I really enjoy this unique kind of art-work---I do guitar shows and music, sometimes recordings, and in the past I have done radio-broadcasts, or online audio-work like Mp3's, Voice-Overs. etc. There are many online sources of free or almost free 'sound libraries', where you can find the most amazing sounds, and also music loops and so on. A barking dog, foot-steps, an airplane, shouts, a galloping horse---how about a UFO landing, or a bomb going off?? Do your Google-search for 'Free Sound Library', or 'Free Audio Movie Clips'---that's right, you can easily download free audio clips from all your favorite TV shows and famous films---amazing, given the copyright restrictions, but those are usually taken care of beforehand. Other sites, like The FreeSound Project, have thousands of ambient recordings of everything you could possibly imagine, organized by category search---bells ringing, trains, people talking, babies crying, horses, a person snoring, airplanes, guns---you-name-it. If your computer has aprogram such as Audacity (free online), you can patch these together and create way-cool audio-files for all kinds of uses---send to your friends, shows, media, radio. I'm especially fond of the nostalgic old movies and TV shows---try this link:

A great site to get you started---many downloads free. I use it often. Another excellent ho9bby for anyone is to take up the 'new media' art of just walking around with a quality digital sound-recorder, and see what kind of fascinating sounds and noises you can pick up---you'd be amazed---
Peace---
