Buena y what's good in the 805

This is my first post but can't wait to find out more about beautiful Santa Barbara. I am a UCSB senior political science major and I recently returned to Goleta after studying abroad in Santiago Chile. From Chile I began a 2 month surf trip up the Pacific coast of South America. The Trip was 4,000 miles by bus and finished in Cartagena Colombia. During the travels I witnessed some of the most spectacular scenery in the world, yet upon my return to the 805 I realised that everything this place has is indeed hard to beat.

Welcome! That sounds like a great experience. Have you been hiking anywhere in/around SB? There are some beautiful trails but from what I've heard about South America, I'd bet the SB trails don't even compare.
