SLO CountyAndre Birotte Jr. has been nominated to be the next U.S. attorney for the Central District, a region that encompasses San Luis Obispo, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Santa Barbara and Ventura counties. If confirmed by the U.S. Senate, Birotte, a former assistant U.S. attorney who is inspector general for the Los Angeles Police Commission, would be the district’s first African-American U.S. attorney.
