Default Is Santa Barbara a bicycle friendly town?

Love seeing the nice bike lanes, but it seems treacherous to ride anywhere in Santa Barbara. What are your thoughts?

My thought is that there is nice design for cycling around town, but the drivers who are not used to cyclists sharting the road with them pose a constant hazard.

Yes, I use biking as my primary mode of transportation. Not only are there exclusive bike paths separated from traffic that let you get around most places, but I've yet to find a main street that didn't have a decent bike lane. It usually takes me about 45 minutes to bike all the way from West Goleta to Downtown using the bike paths.

I primarily use my bike as well and Milpas and Haley feel like death traps. Anacapa makes me nervous as well. I usually have to take longer routes to avoid the dangerous roads but fortunately, this means along shoreline so the view is always pleasant... Personally, I would like SB to have better lanes for bikes but there's only so much they can do..
