Default What to do in Santa Barbara during the winter?

I typically spend my spare time doing outdoors activities (biking/hiking/exploring/going to the beach) but with the change to winter weather, those activities aren't as favorable. Past winters I was occupied with college but now that I've graduated I'm finding that the winter weather has got me bored and cooped up in the house.

Any suggestions for things I can do in the area that don't depend on the weather?

Well if it is just cold you can head up to the natural hot springs. You can drive all the way to them.

It is a good drive up there...I took a detour though, I was visiting SB so started at a side road that started at the 154 then drove south east on that, took a couple hours to get there that way.

SNOWBOARD Season!!! Yeah! I just hope it will not be too crowded with all the "bunny slope experts" on the real run.

That is why I try my hardest not go during winter break. Don't like having to concentrate more on not hitting all the bodies strewn about the middle of a run than on having fun. Need to get up to Mammoth again, too much mountain for that to happen...at least towards the upper south side.

I've never been a snowboarder or a skier. Or a surfer for that matter. I guess that's part of the reason why I'm so bored now that it's winter.
