Default What does Ventura County have to offer?

I'm not from around here so I'm not really familiar with what there is to do in the area. What places/events/activities are there that might warrant a trip to anywhere in Ventura County for my friends and I?

Yea that is quite a broad question. And which parts of ventura county? I enjoy all the mountain biking there is to offer out here. Beaches. Decent bars depending on what your favored bar is and once again location in ventura county.

Well, I was hoping that people would post back with fun things they do in their city. I'm not really familiar with the area at all so pretty much any suggestions will be welcome. I've lived in SB for a few years now and I've only done a fraction of the things available to do there and I figure there's probably lots of other fun things to do elsewhere in the area.

ah got it. well comparing VC to SB is quite different as SB is a big college town. If you are into cliff jumping we have some good spots out in Santa Paula, just not sure how access is nowadays after the rains.

We have some decent bars out in Thousand Oaks, a few Cougar bars from what I have heard too.

We have a couple nice indoor climbing gyms as well. If you are more into bouldering, check out vertical heaven in Ventura. More into high climbing check out Boulderdash in Westlake Village.

Downtown Ventura is always nice to walk around. You can also head down towards the fairgrounds and check out kite surfers.

I usually go other places for a lot of my extra curricular activities. I live in Ventura county for its more quiet laid back atmosphere, well at least out in East Ventura county. West Ventura has more stuff going on with the bigger population there and downtown strip of shops and bars.

There is also this new place called sky high in camarillo.. i havent been but picture a huge commercial building with trampolines on the whole floor and walls.
Also there are great "hang out" restaurants. i go to the lazy dog cafe in TO quite frequently. The whole outside is made for a dog friendly environment as well :]

What kinds of things are you into? There's the Movie festival in Ojai this weekend, suppose to be pretty good! Ojai is a nice place, but I haven't find anything particularly awesome to do there yet. The city has events once in a while, mostly art events. I'm also looking for anything fun to do, like concerts, jams, karaoke, and daytime stuff as well. Look me up if you find something interesting!

I will definitely have to look into this sky high place. thanks for the heads up!
Love me some lazy dog! Plus they have Stone on tap! As well as their own brews which you can get a nice sampler of. Nice outdoor area with a fire pit and the bar area is nice for sports too.

oh i always want to make it out to the movie festival...and always forget when it happens. Ojai is definitely more of an artsy town. lived there for a semester, nice and quiet with nice clean air.
